Sometimes you just need some tasty finger foods to keep you on track. These chicken wings are just that. Whether you’re having a backyard party or a fun family dinner, these are sure to make everyone smile. Best of all, they aren’t fried and they require few ingredients.
3-4 lbs of chicken wings
*You will actually need to double this because you will make two servings of the marinade. The first batch will be used to marinate the wings and the second will be used as a glaze.
1/2 C of honey
2/3 C coconut aminos
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 Tbsp fresh ginger root, finely grated
Mix all of the marinade ingredients together and pour in a large Ziploc bag. Use more than one if needed.
Place wings in bags and shake so marinade covers well
Leave in refrigerator over night
On the following day, preheat oven to 375 degrees
Make the second batch of the marinade
Let second batch of marinade simmer in a pan on low heat until the volume starts reducing, then remove from stove
Place marinated wings on a cookie sheet lined with foil
Bake uncovered for 20 minutes
Remove the wings and turn them over
Brush them with the reduced marinade
Place wings back in the oven
Bake for 20-25 more minutes until chicken is fully cooked, removing each 5 minutes to turn and brush on more reduced marinade
Pair these with sweet potato fries and a side salad for a great meal!
